PLANTS AND WILDLIFE

The Crosby Open Space Preserve contains native riparian, marsh, vernal pool, coastal sage scrub, and chaparral habitats. These communities provide habitat for a variety of sensitive plant and wildlife species. Sensitive plants and wildlife include those species that are federally or state-listed as endangered, threatened, or rare, listed by conservation organizations such as the California Native Plant Society, or considered sensitive by local or regional jurisdictions. Fourteen sensitive plant species and twelve sensitive wildlife species are known to occur within the Preserve.
